Connecting Community & Government
The Communications Department acts as the voice of the Gitlax̱t’aamiks Village Government (GVG). We are responsible for leading the strategic development and implementation of all internal and external communications. Our goal is to ensure that consistent, effective messaging reaches our intended audiences while building the organization’s reputation and engaging key stakeholders.
Core Responsibilities
- Strategy & Relations: We oversee public relations, corporate communications, and media relations, guided by a comprehensive Communications Strategy and Mandate.
- Digital Presence: We maintain the GVG website, Facebook page, and Zenfolio photo galleries.
- Brand Management: We act as stewards of the GVG identity, providing guidance on brand guidelines and overseeing the use of the GVG Logo Suite.
- Multimedia & Events: Our team provides photography (and upcoming videography) for event coverage and creates promotional materials (“swag”) for the community.
- Publications: We manage the production and distribution of the monthly newsletter.
